Academic House Dormitory/Honors Housing - The University of Toledo

The Academic House Dormitory was designed for 400 students in the Honors Program at the University. It provides a collegiate environment conducive for a living-learning experience where students, advisors, and faculty interact regularly. The dormitory was the first major structure in the expansion area of the main campus along the Ottawa River.

Constructed in 1992, the Academic House and Sullivan Hall at The University of Toledo received the 2017 AIA Toledo’s 25 Year Award.  Academic House, originally designed as a traditional dormitory, has evolved and been reintroduced as a “two-year live on campus” program for first and second year students.  Sullivan Hall has changed over time and now houses separate administrative space for the school of Visual and Performing Arts and the Academic Communications Department.
